Course Catalogue
Our course catalogue takes a holistic approach, bringing together a suite of NOCN-endorsed programmes developed for all roles across construction and the wider built environment, including office-based teams, site-based staff, support functions, trades, supervisors, management, and the self-employed. Each course is delivered across all learner profiles, from early-entry and English language learners through to experienced professionals. The core content remains consistent for all learners, with delivery adapted only in language, pace, and support, ensuring clear, shared standards and expectations across the workforce.
Across every programme, the guiding principle is the prevention of harm, underpinned by Safety, Security, and Sustainability. Learning is intentionally designed to go beyond the transfer of information. Each course addresses what is required, when it applies, why it matters, and how it must be applied in practice. This includes the positive and negative consequences of decisions for the individual, the team, the project, the organisation, and the wider supply chain. This reflects the reality that competence is not solely technical ability, but behaviour-led responsibility, accountability, and informed decision-making.
This approach responds directly to current and growing industry pressures. Employers operate within an expanding landscape of regulation, legislation, procurement, and assurance requirements, and increasingly require a workforce and supply chain that understands its role within these frameworks. This is particularly significant in a sector where a substantial proportion of the workforce is self-employed, and individuals are expected to manage end-to-end responsibility for compliance, records, communication, and professional conduct.
Despite increased focus since the Grenfell Tower tragedy, a gap remains between policy and day-to-day understanding. Many individuals still lack awareness of key expectations such as Green Skills, BSI Flex standards, and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, creating risk for individuals, employers, and projects alike. These programmes are designed to close that gap by building consistent understanding, sound professional judgement, and clear accountability across the workforce.
All programmes are delivered as Continuing Professional Development (CPD), supporting individuals to maintain, develop, and evidence professional competence over time. This structured and transparent approach strengthens the evidence individuals can present when demonstrating competence and provides confidence to employers, partners, and commissioning bodies in what learners have been taught, how expectations are applied, and how standards are upheld in practice.
